Our Beginning

We adopted a constitution in May 2012 and began to distribute food packages in September 2012.
In 2015, the need for food parcels and general help increased.

Our referrals come from a vast range of professional agencies including, but not exclusively, South Hams District Council, local Town & Parish Councils, Schools, Health Visitors, Doctor’s, Hospitals, Drug & Alcohol Services and many more.

We had one session, on Saturday morning’s, from 10am until 12pm - at Horizons, Fore Street, which was an opportunity for clients to collect food parcels and seek help and support with other issues.

Covid-19 arrived in the UK in March 2020 and as with many support services - our model of operation altered dramatically.

In April 2020 Kingsbridge Area Food Bank registered as a charity with the Charity Commission - 1189068 - KINGSBRIDGE AREA FOODBANK.
